Mobile Submission

With Mobile Submission, print users can submit documents using a mobile device (via the HP Secure Print mobile app app). Users can download the app from the App Store (iOS) or the Google Play Store (Android).

Note: You will need a mobile device running either Apple iOS 13.0 or later, or Android OS 8.1 or later. If you are running versions earlier than Android 8.1, you will not be able to upgrade to the newer version of the app or install the app from app store.

Mobile Submission is disabled by default. To allow users to submit documents via their mobile device, you'll need to:

1. Navigate to the Secure > Settings > Secure Print Settings screen of the web portal.

2. Under Document Handling, enable Mobile Submission.

When Mobile Submission is enabled, jobs will always be stored in cloud regardless of the Cloud Storage setting. This means that if users submit print jobs through a mobile device, those jobs are automatically stored in the cloud. This setup ensures mobile jobs are accessible from anywhere and are stored securely in the cloud.

Mobile App release always requires an active Print Scout to successfully deliver the print job to the printer, either through the user’s Print Scout or the designated print server’s Print Scout if "Force delivery via print servers" is enabled. The mobile app itself doesn’t have a direct connection to the printer. Instead, it relies on a Print Scout to act as an intermediary that retrieves the job from cloud storage and pushes it to the printer.

Note: Once the Mobile Submission function is enabled, you will not be able to turn it off yourself. To disable this function, you will need to reach out to our Support team for assistance.
